U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission order recall of Entertainment centersAccording to the reports, the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of American Signature entertainment centers due to a fall hazard.

The commission also said that the company has received several reports of the shelf above the television collapsing. Two injuries have been reported from falling shelves.

It was further noted by the report that about 24,000 entertainment centers were imported from China, Malaysia and Thailand by American Signature Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, and sold nationwide from October 2002 through December 2009 for about $1,650.

The entertainment centers involved in the recall were sold with model names of "Arts and Crafts," "Vineyard Manor," "Lake Cottage," "Studio One," "West Indies" and "Plantation Cove."

According to the commission officials, consumers were advised not to move the entertainment centers until they install a free repair kit provided by the company. (With inputs from Agencies)
