Undergraduate seats to MBBS course enhanced in HPHere's good news for those who inspire to become medical professionals in Himachal Pradesh.  

The government of Himachal Pradesh has announced that the number of undergraduate seats in Shimla's Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH) will be enhanced from 65 to 100 from the next session.

Speaking with the media persons in Shimla, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said: "To meet the increasing demand of medical professionals in the state, MBBS seats in the IGMCH will be enhanced from the existing 65 to 100 from the next session."

Notably, there is a huge shortage of doctors, especially specialists, in Himachal Pradesh.  

The government, thus, is forced to acquire the services of private practitioners in the state.  

Dhumal also said that the state government is also looking forward get the services of doctors from neighboring states of Punjab and Haryana.
