UN concerned over US cross border attacks inside Pakistan

United Nations Secretary General Ban ki-MoonUnited Nations, Nov 22: United Nations Secretary General Ban ki-Moon has voiced his concern over the United States’ cross-border attacks on suspected Taliban targets inside Pakistani territory.

Six people were killed in a suspected US drone strike in Bannu district on Tuesday night.

Al Qaeda terrorist Abdullah Azam Al-Saudi was believed killed in the US missile attack, the first outside the Tribal Areas of Pakistan, the Daily Times reported.

“The secretary general is concerned,” his spokeswoman Michele Montas said, when asked to clarify media reports that quoted her as saying that the latest US strike was a ‘bilateral issue’ between US and Pakistan.

Montas said what she had said on Thursday when her attention was drawn to the strike deep inside Pakistani territory was that she would not comment as Pakistan had taken up the matter with the US bilaterally. (ANI)
