UK says it will assist Nepal in army integration
Kathmandu, Apr. 2 : Visiting British Minister for International Development Mike Foster said his government would support any decision Nepal takes with respect to army integration issues, the government-run newspaper The Rising Nepal reported Thursday.
Foster made these remarks on Wednesday during his discussion with Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal of the ruling coalition party, the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML) at the latter''''s party office in the capital Kathmandu.
Xinhua quoted Khanal as saying after the meeting that the discussion was focused on the peace process and development activities in the country.
He said that Foster suggested resolving army integration issue through consensus among all the political parties.
Emerging from the meeting, Foster told reporters that their discussion was focused on the ongoing peace process, army integration, new constitution writing process and development issues. (ANI)
