UK, India to discuss defence business prospects
New Delhi, Feb. 14: Coinciding with the Defexpo India 2008, the fifth International Land and Naval Systems Exhibition, a 30 member defence industry delegation from the UK under the aegis of the Defence Manufacturers Association of the UK would be visiting India.
Keen to promote co-operation between Indian and UK defence production companies, the Confederation fo Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Defence Manufacturers Association of the UK (DMA) is organising the fourth India – UK Defence Industry Symposium on Friday.
The Hotel Oberoi in New Delhi is the venue for the event.
Pradeep Kumar, Secretary, Defence Production, Air Vice Marshal Gavin MacKay, Senior Military Advisor to Head of Defence Exports Services, Ministry of Defence, UK; Creon Butler, Deputy British High Commissioner; Rear Admiral Rees Ward CB, Director General, The Defence Manufacturers Association of UK, will deliver speeches at the seminar.
The British delegation is visiting India to explore possibilities for co-operation with India in the area of design, development and production of defence equipment.
Most of the major defence companies in the UK are a part of this delegation. (ANI)
