The leaders also discussed the Middle East peace process and the Arab Peace Initiative for peace with Israel, WAM said.

Mubarak arrived in the UAE on Wednesday for a two-day visit.

Economic growth in Egypt has surged over the past few years in part because of investments from the Gulf Arab region. Egypt's government has said investment could slow this year. (dpa)
