Training exercise accident at Fort Bragg leaves 1 dead, 2 wounded
The Army has said that a training exercise accident at Fort Bragg, N. C., Tuesday left one person dead and two wounded.
It has been reported that the Army Special Operations Command said in a statement on its Web site a contractor with the installation's Range Control operation died of a gunshot wound at Womack Army Medical Center. A second Range Control contractor was wounded by gunfire and was transported by air to University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
The third victim, described as a soldier who is a student at the U. S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, was grazed by a shot to his arm. The soldier was being treated at Womack.
The report further noted that the incident, which occurred at Fort Bragg's Range 77, was under investigation. (With Inputs from Agencies)
