Three held for betting on India-Australia match
New Delhi, Oct 29 : Three brothers were arrested here Thursday for placing bets of up to Rs. 10 million on the India-Australia cricket match held in Nagpur Wednesday, police said.
Abhinab Saluja, 28, Anil Saluja, 26, and their younger brother Ravi Saluja, 24, were arrested from Lakshmi Nagar area in east Delhi.
"During interrogation, the three revealed that they had been running this betting racket for the last two months and they used to avoid police detection by changing their locations. This racket starts from Mumbai and is being handled from Faridabad and Gurgaon," said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police O. P. Mishra.
The police said they have recovered three colour televisions, one laptop, one calculator, 126 mobile phones and two walkie-talkie phones from the accused. (IANS)
