Three dead, 53 injured in bus crash in Bosnia

BosniaSarajevo - Three people were killed and 53 injured late Friday night when a bus collided with a truck near the northern Bosnian town of Doboj, police confirmed Saturday.

Two passengers in the bus, carrying Croatian pilgrims to Roman Catholic shrine in Medjugorje, southern Herzegovina, died immediately, while the truck driver died later in the hospital.

Another 19 passengers were badly injured and transported to hospitals in Doboj and Banja Luka, while one six-year-old boy was critical and was transported to the clinic centre in Zagreb.

The accident occurred when the bus driver tried to avoid the truck that entered his lane without particular reason, but did not manage to do that. The bus overturned after the collision. (dpa)
