The internet companies – Google, Microsoft and Yahoo – are being pressed by a group of US legislators to resist to pressure from communist government of Vietnam. The group of a dozen of US lawmakers is urging these internet giants to resist strongly to the “communist Vietnam's "aggravating" drives to curb online freedom of political expression”.

The group of twelve US lawmakers is comprised of eight Democratic Representatives including Loretta Sanchez, James Moran, Michael Honda, Madeleine Bordallo, Maurice Hinchey, Hank Johnson, Neil Abercrombie, and Niki Tsongas, and four Republican Representatives including Joseph "Anh" Cao, the first Vietnamese American to serve in the House, Daniel Lungren, Ed Royce, and Thaddeus McCotter.

The provider of networking and communications technology and services – Cisco Systems revealed its new systems within its unified communications (UC) and TelePresence portfolios, on Tuesday, at VoiceCon 2009. The maker of business application infrastructure software – Progress Software Corporation yesterday announced that its Progress Software solutions have been chosen by a Dutch Maritime Information and Service provider. The Bedford, Massachusetts based American Software Company stated that Royal Dirkzwager has picked its Progress Software solutions to "automate the monitoring and analysis of real-time shipping information that tracks the arrival of cargo ships to ports around the world."

London, April 2  If some companies have their way, reading would never be the same again, with Hitachi, Fujitsu and Hewlett-Packard racing to develop bigger e-paper devices that are flexible and can display colour and video.

According to a report in Nature News, the technology uses tiny capsules 0.1 millimeters wide that are filled with a non-conducting fluid that contains particles of positively charged white and negatively charged black pigments.

Applying a positive charge causes the black particles to move to the top of the capsule and the white ones to the bottom, so that the surface appears black.

A negative charge switches the surface back to white.
