Washington, November 16 : A software programme developed by Stanford artificial intelligence researchers can make it easy to edit videos and add various items in it with such an accuracy that they seem to be part of the footage right from the beginning.

The researchers say that their software does not past a picture on top of the existing video, but embeds in it. It even allows a user to play a video on a wall inside a video.

According to them, the software can reduce the cost of performing some of the tricks that presently involve expensive commercial editing systems.

Washington, November 16 : Researchers in the United States and at the London Centre for Nanotechnology have moved a step further towards building a usable quantum computer by finding a way to extend the quantum lifetime of electrons by over 5,000 per cent.

Writing about their work in Physical Review Letters, the researchers highlight the fact that electrons exhibit a property called “spin”, and work like tiny magnets that can point up, down or a quantum superposition of both.

Hamburg  - Flat screen displays for gaming PCs might not be ready for prime time yet, but they're not far off, either, according to a recent test by Computer Bild Spiele magazine.

The Hamburg-based periodical put six 22- to 24-inch monitors through their paces. One of the 24-inchers earned a score of "good"; the rest achieved only "satisfactory."

The test winner was the Samsung Sync Master 2493HM, which the testers saw as having a high image contrast, good anti-reflection characteristics and very good colour fidelity.

London, November 15 : A digital picture carries pixel-based fingerprint that can reveal which camera model was used to click it, say researchers.

Nasir Memon of the Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York, has revealed that every digital camera has an in-built "demosaicing" software that translates each pixel into a usable colour and brightness signal.

Washington, Nov. 15 : Cyber hackers have broken into the computer system at the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a Fox News report has said.

The hacking took place last week, throwing the IMF into a major crisis.

It provoked a shutdown of IMF computers that lasted for several days.

FOX News has been unable to determine what, if any, information may have been obtained by the hackers. The IMF denies any critical intrusion took place.
