TDP Changes Stance On Telangana
In what seemed to be a surprise for many, poltical party TDP announced its plan to form a separate state of Telangana from the present province, Andhra Pradesh. The news was quite unexpected as the same party has been working for years to prevent Andhra from being bifurcated.
The TDP Chief, Chandrababu Naidu on its changed stance commented on Thursday that, "The Core committee has decided this on basis of the sentiment of the Telangana people. They have recommended a separate Telangana."
For some, the path resorted by the party seems to be politically motivated since the elections are just six months away and whosoever is able to achieve the ‘Telangana people’s’ motive will undoubtedly be successful. It seems that the TDP chief wants to leave no stones unturned this time after experiencing a failure in 2004 elections in ten districts of Telangana region.
The fear over the party looms as the Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam and the Congress are likely to well.. Coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh have always assured a major votebank for TDP and they don’t want to loose it. Congress and Chiranjeevi's party are presently gaining ground there.
Though the time will tell as to who is able to win over the people’s confidence. Naidu reflecting confidence and giving assurance to the people said, "TDP has credibility. And people know we stick to whatever we say."
