Taregna to witness longest total solar eclipse of this century

Taregna to witness longest total solar eclipse of this centurySolar scientists, astronomers, stargazers, and tourists are rushing to Taregna, which is just 35 km from Patna, Bihar, to view the longest total solar eclipse of this century on July 22. On early morning of July 22, Taregana will witness total solar eclipse.

Some of the notable scientists, who are expected to visit Taregna on July 22, include solar scientist of NASA Sandeep Das Gupta, his wife Ratnashri, the Director of the Nehru Planetarium, and some scientists from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR)-Mumbai.   

According to reports, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also visit Taregna to view the solar eclipse. He will be accompanied by notable astronomer Amitabh Pandey.

Indira Gandhi Planetarium, Patna has teamed up with a Delhi-based SPACE to help scientists cover the entire solar eclipse event. The state of Bihar has made special arrangements for the mass viewing of the solar eclipse. The live telecast of the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century will be jointly aired by DDK-Bhopal, Patna and Dibrugarh.
