According to Track and Field star Suzy Favor Hamilton, she has talked to her daughter regarding the sex scandal that appeared as a big problem for their family. It took long time for her to make amends with her husband after she was exposed as an escort in Las Vegas.

She discussed with her husband about treatment of her bipolar disorder that went undiagnosed and had played a big role in her behavior, when she looked for excitement in her life.

Hamilton told PEOPLE that her bipolar disorder was driven in the direction of sex and there was possibility that she could have been seeking alcohol and drugs, or gambling. Hamilton said that she found that sex was the major high to fuel her desire and it is common in bipolar people.

Hamilton’s recovery includes discussing with her daughter regarding the matter as well as talking to a team of mental health professionals and also finding the proper medicines.

The three-time Olympian said that her daughter is aware that her mother had sex with many people. She added that she is looking for a therapist who could talk to children on the subject of sex.

According to her, “Mark and I wanted to be honest with Kylie. So we approached in a way that a 7-year-old could handle it. There were some things that we said, “That we’ll wait to discuss until you’re 10. You’re not quite ready for that”.

She said they didn’t want to keep her in the dark and also didn’t want her overhearing something.
