Suzlon wins new wind power project
A new project has been attained by the Wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy. It has received an order for 1,000 MW of projects from Caparo Energy India.
The worth of the project is $1.28 billion (around Rs 5,800 crore) as stated by the company. The company has also reported that the projects will be steadily developed by March 2013.
According to a company official, this will provide Suzlon a major opportunity to position it in the Indian market at a place where it is might be placed two years from now.
The company has recently received some large orders. It has got one order from Vedanta as well.
Pune-based Suzlon is very much anxious about the current projects as it has been posting losses for several quarters now. Suzlon’s net losses in the second quarter of the current fiscal year amounted to Rs 369 crore.
On the other hand, its turnover has also declined to Rs 3,839 crore, against Rs 4,855 crore in the same period year-ago. The company has debt obligation of Rs 10,000 crore.
