State’s poll tips on YouTube
Raj’s election dept identified as ideal for other states
The largest democracy in the world is relying on Rajasthan to tutor its officers in conducting the elections. And, how? Through one of the most popular video portal www.youtube.com
The election department in Rajasthan has been identified as an ideal for other states to follow while conducting the polls. For the first time, Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the state election department to prepare videos on how elections should be conducted and load them on
www.youtube.com for the entire country to download and learn from them. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai has been authorised to make the videos and upload them on the youtube’s website.
“We are leaving for Chennai on March 2 for recording the videos, where we will lend our voices,” chief electoral officer of Rajasthan, Vinod Zutshi said. Two teams from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh would be assisting the ECI in tutoring the election department in other states. “We will prepare five videos, each on a different subject,” Zutshi said. Each video will be of 20-minute duration.
The subjects are: voter awareness and facilitation through innovative practices, human resource development for effective election management, management of health check of the electoral rolls, sector and zonal planning process and how to be a good presiding officer.
