Spanish police detain 22 Hell's Angels
Barcelona - Spanish police Tuesday detained 22 suspected members of the Hell's Angels motorcycle gang, seizing weapons and neo-Nazi propaganda material, police sources said.
The detainees were held in Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia, Madrid and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on charges of belonging to an illegal organization, drugs and arms trafficking, extortion, coercion and threats.
Police searched more than 30 addresses, including homes and bars.
They confiscated weapons, ammunition, bulletproof vests, one kilogramme of cocaine, 200,000 euros (260,000 dollars) in cash, and objects and books with neo-Nazi symbols or content.
The detainees were suspected of belonging to a paramilitary structure that maintained contacts with Hell's Angels gangs in the Americas and Italy, police said.
The arrests followed those of eight suspected Hell's Angels in Barcelona in late 2007. (dpa)
