Some Women take a little bit longer to know they’re pregnant

On Wednesday, 47-year-old Massachusetts woman Judy Brown went to Beverly Hospital in Beverly, Massachusetts complaining of severe abdominal pain. According to her, she had a gallstone, but after examination, doctors told her that her gallstone was actually a baby. Just an hour later, she delivered a healthy baby girl.

While speaking to ABC News, Brown said that although she experienced symptoms, she couldn’t believe she was expecting a child. Brown told the station, “After being married for 22 years, it wasn’t really coming up being pregnant. It was not really there in my mind”.

A pediatrician at the hospital, Gesci, said such a case wherein a woman has no idea that she is pregnant was extremely rare, but entirely plausible. Gesci said that at times, people are not aware about it or they’re in denial about it that can be quite strong.

Brown’s baby has been named Carolyn Rose, and she came out a healthy 8 pounds, 2 ounces. Brown and her husband, Jason, said they didn't plan to have children, and had the philosophy that if it happens, it happens.

According to the news station, the couple has been married for 22 years and left giving birth to a child up to chance. Although the born child was unexpected, they have already called Carolyn ‘daddy’s girl’.

The couple’s near and dear ones have been providing loaned supplies to them until they settle in with their newborn.
