Somalian pirates release hijacked ship Stolt Valor

Somalian pirates on Sunday released hijacked ship MT Stolt Valor.

According to preliminary reports all the members are released safely.

The ship has 18 Indian crew members on board.

The Japanese vessel, owned by Stolt Tankers, was hijacked off the Gulf of Aden near the Somali coast on September 15.

The ship is sailing towards Mumbai and is expected to reach the city in about three-four days’ time.

It is said that the release is the outcome of huge ransom being paid to the pirates. The pirates had demanded ransom of USD 2.5 million for the ship’s release.
