Samsung Rolls Out High Definition 3D TVsConsumer electronics giant Samsung has rolled out its high definition (HD) three dimension (3D) light-emitting diode (LED) TV sets with flat panel to provide home entertainment for discerning audience.

At a preview of the products, Samsung India Deputy Managing Director Ravinder Zutshi said, "We have introduced the flat panel high definition 3D TV sets to consolidate our leadership in the top end Indian market by offering theatre entertainment in home environs for an entire family."

As the world's slenderest HD 3D LED TV with a wafer-thin design and a touch screen remote control, the sets lets watchers to enjoy TV or Blu-ray DVD titles simultaneously.

"With television broadcaster Sun, channels such as National Geographic and ESPN offering programmes in 3D, viewing them on HD LED sets will be an altogether different experience," Mr. Zutshi said.

The company's Indian arm is making the 3D TVs at its Noida plant in UP, which has a total capacity to launch around two million units annually.

The sets in 9000 series also automatically change 2D content into 3D, letting watchers to watch a soccer game live and feel like being a part of the action.

Its AllShare feature lets users to wirelessly link their television with compatible cellular phones to share films, pics and music through a single device.

Samsung is eyeing targeting to sell around 30,000 HD 3D TVs and approximately 200,000 LED TVs in 2010.

The Samsung HD TV sets are commercialized in 46 inch and 55 inch screen size with BD (Blu-ray Disc) player and three 3D glasses at Rs 400,000 and Rs 430,000 respectively.

The company is also offering 10 models in LED, LCD and Plasma platforms in 40-63 inch screen size and priced between Rs 129,000 and Rs 186,000, with plasma version at Rs 300,000.

The LED TV sets in 22-55 inch screen size are priced between Rs 25,000 and Rs 200,000. (With Inputs from Agencies)
