South Korean electronics giant, Samsung has delayed the launch of its latest ‘Galaxy tab’ tablet computer due to patent infringement lawsuit filed by Apple against the company, according to a report.

Samsung is competing well with Apple in the mobile device industry as it has access to cost effective resources as well as chips and core tablet components. The two companies are locked in a legal battle since April when the American giant sued Samsung in a U. S. federal court for infringement.

Apple alleges that Samsung’s Galaxy line of mobile phones and tablets copies iPhone and iPad. Samsung has filed its won counter lawsuit in the courts.

"It is not that we will not sell the Galaxy Tab until the legal case ends. We will sell it when certain conditions are met as we continue talks with Apple," said a Samsung spokesperson about a possible launch in the Australian market.

The Federal Court in Sydney has reportedly given an injunction preventing the release of the Galaxy device in the country. Apple has already sued the company in Australia claiming Galaxy Tab 10.1 infringes upon 10 Apple patents, according to Bloomberg.

Samsung has halted advertising efforts for the tablet in Australia and will not start shipping until the court gives it an approval for launch.
