Saifuddin Soz says Indo-Pak foreign secy-level talks can’t resolve Kashmir issue
Srinagar, Mar 12 : Union Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz today said that India-Pakistan Foreign Secretary-level talks cannot resolve the Kashmir issue.
“Secretary-level talks are not final. Politicians will have to take a decision,” Soz told reporters here.
Soz, who arrived here on his first visit after taking charge of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), said the dialogue process with Pakistan would be taken up after the formation of the next government in the neighbouring country.
“Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is keen on friendship with Pakistan and dialogue is the only way to resolve outstanding issues. The democratic process has started there, let a popular government take over and we shall deal with the democratic government,” said Soz.
Talking about the stalled talks between the Centre and separatist groups, he said that the Central Government was willing to resume the talks and the doors of the Prime Minister are open to “everyone”.
“The political stalemate can be resolved between the moderate Hurriyat Conference and the Centre. I offer my services for resumption of the dialogue. All of us have to work together to make it a success,” Soz said. (ANI)
