Rooney labeled as ‘Mr Angry of Premier League’ after stamping incident
London, Dec 12 : Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been accused of being too angry for his own as he might face a possible Champions League ban.
Rooney is in hot water with the UEFA after being accused of stamping on Aalborg's Kasper Risgard. European football's governing body is studying video evidence before deciding whether the Manchester United striker should be punished.
Referee Laurent Duhamel overlooked the 41st-minute stamping incident in Wednesday night's 2-2 Champions League draw at Old Trafford, The Sun reported.
But after the match Risgard claimed Rooney was `jumping on my chest' and had left `big marks'.
Rooney, who scored United's equaliser, was also involved in a spat with Aalborg goalscorer Michael Jakobsen and striker Thomas Augustinussen.
Rooney's antics came as no surprise to Aalborg's striker Marek Saganowski, who labelled him as the "Mr Angry of the Premier League".
Striker Saganowski is on loan in Denmark from Championship side Southampton. And he insists Rooney is not as special as he thinks he is.
Saganowski said: "Rooney is always angry. When I see him in the Premier League he is always angry when he loses. We were happy to get a draw from Old Trafford. We can be proud of this result."
"It was big surprise to be 2-1 up at half time but I think we played good tactics. Maybe United thought after they scored an early goal that it was going to be easy. I played against good players like Ronald Koeman, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo. Rooney is a good player but he is not something special."
Jakobsen added that Rooney did apologise after the incident but insists he would have been shown a red card if the match had not been played at Old Trafford.
The `stamp' occurred shortly after Jakobsen's 32nd-minute goal put the Danish team level at 1-1, following Carlos Tevez's fine United opener. (ANI)
