As the rumors state, Windows is all set to change the name of its Windows Phone 7 series.

It was through Microsoft's windows phone Twitter account it was proclaimed that the IT giant will be changing the name of its upcoming device.

Although it's merely a subtraction of the final word which makes the name more meaningful and now named as Windows Phone 7.

As the company's tweet stated "Tis the season for Series finales. We've got one too - dropping the 'Series' and keeping the 'Windows Phone 7.' Done" And now the operating system is now just Windows Phone 7, which just makes more sense, and isn't such a mouthful.

However the company plans to reposition itself with the name change, and as the trade analysts suggest it should be made to WinPhone 7.
