London, September 20 A new study has revealed that 10 per cent of girls in the UK, aged under 16, are carrying a sexually transmitted disease (STD), which may give them cervical cancer later in life.

The figures from the Health Protection Agency show that more and more girls are infected with the human papilloma virus (HPV), which puts them at the risk of developing cervical cancer.

Cherie Blair set to earn millions from her memoirs

London, Sept 20 : Cherie Blair is now cashing in on life at 10 Downing Street by signing a 1.5 million pounds deal with publishers Little, Brown for her memoirs.

The tome is set to hit bookstands in October next year, and Little, Brown described it as a ‘warm and intimate’.

“(It’s a) warm, intimate and often very funny portrait of a family living in extraordinary circumstances,” The Sun quoted the publisher, as saying.

Sian Lloyd bags ‘Rear of the Year’ title

London, Sept 20 : TV weather forecaster Sian Lloyd has been named ‘Rear of the Year’, making her the oldest woman to receive the title.

The 49-year-old, who beat the likes of younger contestants in the online poll, said that she is ‘honoured’ to bag the title.

Lloyd joins a big list of Britain’s posteriors like Charlotte Church, Denise van Outen and Javine Hylton.

London, Sept.20 : Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly quit the football club, citing excessive pressure from the club's Russian billionaire owner Roman Abramovich.

According to The Daily Mail, Mourinho sent text messages to five senior players informing them about his decision to quit after three years on the job. He is probably the first coach of an English football club to use SMS to quit.

London, Sept 20 : Days after she missed out on the Mercury Prize, Amy Winehouse has bagged the best female UK artist prize at both the MOBO awards and Vodafone Live Music Awards held on Sept 19.

At the MOBO awards, the soul star beat the likes of artists like Jamelia and Joss Stone to pick up the award.

Winehouse was up for awards in four categories in total- best UK female, best R&B act, best song for ‘Rehab’ and best video for ‘Back to Black’.
