The Left is trying to woo AIADMK, but Jayalalithaa is not inclined. She would, instead, prefer Congress, which is not willing at this point.

Issues: Every party in the state is espousing the cause of Tamil civilians caught in the crossfire between the Lankan army and LTTE. AIADMK and now the Left are crying “constitutional breakdown” following the lawyers versus police clash at the Madras HC.

Kamal Hasan Criticizes Politicians For Diving Artists Of TN & Karnataka  Veteran South Indian actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan had insisted the politicians of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka not to mix art with politics.

Kamal was speaking in the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of Kannada Film Industry that was held on Sunday evening in Bangalore.

Speaking in his inaugural speech here on the Sunday evening, Kamal said, “Let us put in efforts to strengthen the relationship between the people of the two states. We are like brothers and let's solve the problems without the intervention of others.”

BHEL setting up manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu; to pump Rs 250 croreState-run power equipment maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has revealed that the company is presently setting up a manufacturing unit at Tirumayam in Tamil Nadu at an investment of Rs 250 crore.

The project, to be funded through internal accruals, is part of the company’s manufacturing capacity expansion programme, a company official said.

The new plant would initially produce about 25,000 metric tonne of boiler components.

Pro-LTTE group leader arrested for justifying Rajiv Gandhi’s murder

Tamil-Nadu MapDindigul (Tamil Nadu), Mar. 2 : Kolathur Mani, the leader of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, was arrested on Monday for defending the LTTE for assassinating former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Mani was arrested in Salem for his speech at a public meeting here on February 26 for allegedly saying that "the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi was a right action".

The pro-LTTE group leader was detained for a second time for speaking in favor of LTTE in last three months.
