Srinagar, Mar 19 : Hundreds of women separatists took to streets on Thursday to protest against alleged human rights violation in the region.
They raised slogans and brandished banners during the demonstration. They urged the State Government to check violation of rights in the Kashmir Valley.
Srinagar, Mar 15: Renovation work at the centuries old Mosque of Akhund Mulla (also referred as Akhoon Mulla) at Srinagar in Kashmir is underway to restore the old grandeur of the monument.
The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) has taken the responsibility to restore life in the much-neglected heritage.
Akhund Mulla is said to be a mosque within a mosque. The main sanctuary is a separate and detached building, placed within a courtyard surrounding the mosque.
Built in Circa 1049 by Dara Shikoh, son of the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, to honour his tutor Akhun Mulla Shah, the little mosque is a grey limestone structure, located just below the Makhdum Sahib mosque.
Srinagar, Mar 14 : Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has said that the National Conference was ready to talk to separatists after the upcoming general elections.
"Either now or after the elections, the Chief Minister will open the negotiation channel with separatists so that new ideas will be floated for settlement of the state," Abdullah told reporters after the customary Friday prayers in Srinagar.

At Gakhiral border observation post (BOP) in Jammu and Kashmir, the color riot brought the much-needed breather for the paramilitary personnel.
Thus the BOP echoed with laughter, songs and cheering as the personnel rent the air with ''Holi Re Holi'' greetings.
