A TATA Motors spokesperson said, “Work has come to a standstill at the plant. The protesters laid siege around the Nano plant not allowing any employee to enter the factory.”

Tata to move plant from India's West Bengal if protests persist Singur, Aug 28 : The activists of anti-farmland acquisition group led by a social activist blocked the exit route of more than 200 construction workers and engineers of Tata Motors car project here, leaving them stranded inside the plant.

Tata officials said the activists of Paschimbanga Khet Majur Samity (PKMS) led by social activist Anuradha Talwar blocked the route and three vehicles carrying them were not allowed to leave the plant site.
