Ranchi/New Delhi, Dec 5 : Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren has said that the state government would consider enhancing the security level of Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Dhoni is reportedly unimpressed with the security he has been given. After receiving death threats from Maoists, the Jharkhand Government had provided him additional security cover.
"When we will receive a report for enhancing Dhoni''s security, then we will provide him with more security," said Soren.
Ranchi, Nov. 14 : The Jharkhand High Court is hearing a plea from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray to transfer a complaint case from a Jamshedpur court to Mumbai.
The petition had been filed last month after a case was filed against Thackeray in June this year for insulting religious beliefs.
Ranchi, Nov. 14 : Four security personnel, including three policemen and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier were injured in two separate blasts during the first phase of elections in Chhattisgarh on Friday.
The incidents took place in Maoist-infested Dantewada District. The policemen were injured in a landmine blast near Gorkha, as they were accompanying election officials to polling booths in Bhejji.
Ranchi, Nov 13 : Workers of Lok Jana Shakti Party on Thursday at Ranchi in Jharkhand staged a protest against the Maharashtra Government''s decision to ban the film "Deshdrohi" based on hardships faced by migrants in Mumbai.
Lok Jana Shakti party workers removed the posters of many Bollywood movies outside cinema halls and burnt them to register their protest.
Ranchi, Nov 2 : Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren has run into a fresh controversy with former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi alleging that he has links with the chief of an outlawed extremist outfit in the state.
Marandi, who is also heading the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (P), is demanding a CBI inquiry into the matter in the wake of reports of one hardcore member of the Jharkhand Liberation Tigers (JLT) that Soren is in touch with the head of JLT.
JLT is splinter group of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist) in the state.
