Chandigarh, Aug 26 : Food enthusiasts got something to cheer about recently in Chandigarh. The reason being that two food festivals held there, which tickled their palates and both were unique in their own way.

The people got a taste of Mughlai and Chinese food during the festival.

The 15-day long kebab festival served a variety of juicy and lip-smacking Lucknawi kebabs. The menu included kebabs of 15 non-vegetarian and 10 vegetarian varieties.

Some of the gourmets like Vegetable Galouti kebab, Spicy Fish kebab, and Chicken Tikka Tarkand were cooked in red wine over charcoal, which can leave any food lover craving for more.

Dhothar (Ludhiana), Aug. 25 : Residents in Ludhiana’s Dhothar Village are rejoicing in the achievement of one of their youngsters, who has done all of them proud by becoming the first ever turbaned Sikh commissioned to join the Royal Canadian Air Force.

Ludhiana/Varanasi, Aug 21 : Authorities in Ludhiana have dispatched relief material for flood victims in numerous villages in the state.

Around 40 trucks loaded with relief material including food, water and tents, left for the affected areas from Ludhiana on Wednesday.

"Trucks have drinking water, food material and tents, Infact, we have tried to include everything that was asked for by the victims," said Bikram Singh Manjithia, Public Relations Officer, Punjab.

Danapur/Moga, Aug 20 : The flood situation has worsened in many parts of India with major rivers in spate.

Most rivers in Bihar, including Ganga, Punpun, Ghaghra, Burhigandak, Bagmati, Kosi and Mahananda are flowing above the danger level.

Following a breach in the Kosi Barrage in Nepal, a red alert has been sounded in Supaul, Madhepura and Araria districts of Bihar.

Residents in Danapur, a satellite town of Patna, said that the situation was grim and they had already incurred huge losses on account of damage to property and cattle.
