India tells Pakistan not to adopt delaying tacticsNew Delhi, Apr 14 : A day after Pakistan demanded more proof on the Mumbai terror attacks, India responded by saying Pakistan must demonstrate sincerity by taking tangible action in the case.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma said India had supplied enough evidence to Pakistan regarding the investigations of the 26/11 terror attacks.

Before reaching on any decision, Islamabad would like to have consular access to these students, they added.

Taliban publicly executes eloping young couple in Afghanistan’ Nimroz province

UN condemns murder of Afghan legislator by Taliban Kabul, Apr. 14 : The Taliban has publicly executed a young unmarried couple in the southwestern province of Nimroz.

Confirming the incident, provincial governor Ghulam Dastageer Azad said couple was shot dead by extremists in front of a mosque after they were caught eloping.

“An unmarried young boy and an unmarried girl who loved each other and wanted to get married eloped because their families would not approve the marriage,” The News quoted Azad, as saying.

Pakistani president approves sharia law for Swat region Islamabad - Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari has approved a regulation to enforce Islamic sharia law in the troubled Swat region, in the hopes of achieving peace with Taliban militants, state media said Tuesday. Zardari signed the controversial document late Monday after the country's lower house of the parliament unanimously adopted a resolution urging him to approve the law for the Malakand Agency comprising eight districts, including Swat.

Qazi courts start functioning in NWFP’s Malakand region

PakistanIslamabad, Apr. 14 : Qazi courts have started functioning with full authority following the National Assembly’s nod to implement the sharia law in the Malakand division, The News reports.

The sharia courts were already functioning in Barrikot, Kabal, Matta, Khawazakhel, Bahrain and Babuzai tehsils of Swat from March with limited authority, but after the approval of Nizam-e-Adl regulation they now have full authority to decide over different matters.
