Pak-US intelligence sharing at lowest level

USA, PakistanPeshawar, Apr 15 : The US and Pakistan are at the “lowest level” of intelligence-sharing, cooperation and coordination against al Qaeda and the Taliban in the Tribal Areas bordering Afghanistan, according to senior officials.

“The level of cooperation has gone so low that the US now even does not intimate Pakistan after a drone strike in FATA,” a senior official said in a reflection of the two countries’ relations in the background of a growing insurgency in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The official said that the deterioration in intelligence sharing, cooperation and coordination was gradual.

ISI chief in US for talks on intelligence cooperation

ISIWashington, Apr 15 : Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence chief Lt General Shuja Pasha is in the United States on a two-day visit for talks on intelligence cooperation in wake of US military chief Admiral Michael Mullen’s warning that violence in Afghanistan is set to rise in the coming months.

Lt General. Shuja Pasha’s visit to the US comes amidst increasing concerns voiced by US generals regarding the ISI’s alleged relationship with militant organisations.
