New York  - A United Nations peacekeeping mission will assume responsibility on Sunday of providing security to refugees and war-displaced people in eastern Chad and northeastern Central African Republic, the UN said Friday.

The UN mission, with 5,200 military troops and known as MINURCAT, will take over European Union troops posted in the past year at the region between Chad and CAR where tens of thousands have taken refuge from fighting in Sudan's Darfur and Chad.

New York, Mar 13  Media mogul Oprah Winfrey has lashed out at Rihanna for reconciling with Chris Brown, who allegedly attacked her, as she feels Rihanna's low self-esteem made her do what she did.

Oprah Winfrey dedicated an episode on her show to the victims of domestic violence, while talking about Chris Brown, who allegedly attacked Rihanna and left her with horrific injuries.

Winfrey went on to say that the `Umbrella' hitmaker returned to Brown, as she doesn't feel good about herself.

New York  - Wall Street continued its three-day rally with the three major indices up about 4 per cent on Thursday led by General Electric and Bank of America shares.

General Electric gained 13 per cent to 9.57 dollars per share after it said a cut in its credit rating was unlikely to impact business, and Bank of America picked up 19 per cent to 5.85 dollars.

"Those banks have been beaten down to almost nothing - same goes for GE - so any kind of good news would allow for a bounce," investment strategist Bruce Bittles told Bloomberg financial news.

New York, Mar 12 : Forbes magazine study has revealed that Microsoft Corporation co-founder Bill Gates has reclaimed the title of the richest man in the world, with a total net worth of 40 billion dollars.

According to Fox News, the magazine found 793 billionaires in 2009, which was down by 30 percent from a year earlier.

Apparently, this is the first decline since 2003.
