German firm’s `Obama-branded’ fried chick fingers spark anger in New York

New York, Mar. 17: Moves by a German frozen food company to capitalize on President Obama''s popularity by marketing a new fried chicken product called "Obama Fingers," has sparking outrage from African-Americans.

"It''s racist and inappropriate," declared Brooklyn Councilman Charles Barron.

Calling for a boycott of the company''s products, Barron said: "We should do all that we can to see to it that no [company] disrespects the first black President."

Judith Witting, a sales manager for the company, Sprehe, said the connection between Obama and fried chicken - a stereotype long associated with African-Americans - never occurred to her.

Anna Nicole Smith''s psychiatrist turns herself in

New York, Mar 17 : Ex-Playboy centerfold Anna Nicole Smith's psychiatrist, who is charged with conspiracy for allegedly funneling drugs to the actress, has turned herself in at the Los Angeles Police Department''s Van Nuys station.

Khristine Eroshevich surrendered to police for excessively prescribing drugs to Smith, which led to her 2007 fatal overdose death, according to media reports.

Eroshevich, who was Smith''s next-door neighbor, faces six felony counts. Bail was set at 20,000 dollars, reports The New York Daily News.

As per prosecutors, Eroshevich, Smith''s boyfriend Howard K. Stern, 40, and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, 40, gave Smith thousands of pills in the years before her overdose death.
