Baramati (Maharashtra), Apr 23 : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday said that he will try to bring back the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), into the "umbrella of UPA".

Pawar, after casting his vote from his home constituency Baramati, told the reporters here that he would hold discussions with the leaders of the three parties (RJD, SP, LJP), which are contesting against the Congress in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh.

In her compliant sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur alias Purnachetanandagiri, one of the prime accused in the September 29, 2008 Malegaon blast, said that her fellow inmate at the Byculla jail has beaten her cruelly.

Latur (Maharashtra), Apr 21: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday assured that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government is dedicated towards the fight against terrorism and the repetition of the Mumbai-style terror attacks would be prevented at all costs.

New Delhi - A truck overturned in India's western state of Maharashtra on Monday, killing 19 workers and wounding 15, a news report said.

Most of the workers were killed on the scene near western city of Pune, when the iron rods that the vehicle was carrying pierced through their bodies, police told the PTI news agency.

The injured were admitted at a state-run hospital in the region. Police were investigating how the accident took place.
