Ludhiana youth claims ear-lifting recordLudhiana, Apr 4 : A Ludhiana youth is claiming the world record for lifting 110 kilograms with his ears.

Rakesh Kumar, a former bodybuilder, now says that he is planning to visit London to get his name registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

He has already entered the Limca Book of Records.

"I exercise after every two days with my ears. I have earlier won the third place in bodybuilding. This record attempt was result of eight years of hard work," Kumar said.

Distraught farmers in the city say surprise rains and hailstorms have ruined their wheat crops.

"For last three to four days there is a strong wind blowing accompanied by rain. As a result of this, there are clouds in the night due to which our wheat crop is getting damaged. We have lost one fourth of the wheat crop due to the rains," said Harcharan Singh.

Ludhiana hosts Sikh couple contest

Punjab MapLudhiana, Feb 9 : For the first time ever in India, Sikh couples walked down a ramp in a couple contest in Ludhiana.

Donning both exquisite traditional and western outfits, around 170 couples participated in the contest titled "Guru Sikh Couple Contest" out whom ten contestants were chosen as the best.

Gurpreet Singh, one of the organisers of the contest, said the purpose of the event was to send out a message to the younger generation to keep their cultural values intact while professing modernity.
