Jaipur, Nov 10 : Nominations for Rajasthan Assembly polls, which are slated for December 4, will begin from today.

Jaipur, Nov 1 : The local guardians of Japanese surrogate baby ''Manjhi'' today bid adieu to the child and her 74-year old grandmother Emiko Yamada, who would be leaving for Japan tonight.

Manjhi and Yamada left from Jaipur in the afternoon for New Delhi from where they''ll board an Air India flight to Japan with a one-year visa, which would be renewed later.

Major clients in the U. S and U. K have cancelled their orders following which the local markets of sandstone in Rajasthan are facing recession.

About a million people, related to the sandstone industry, are confronted with the possibility of getting badly affected here. The number of people directly or indirectly faced with the crisis amounts to 70 per cent of the total workforce involved in this industry.

Jaipur, Oct. 23 : There has been a low turn out of visitors to the Jaipur city this time round. And, one of the most affected have been the jumbos whose owners are finding it tough to care for them in this difficult time.

One month into the tourist season has passed but one can find many jumbos standing idle in queue at Hathi stand in Amer village of Jaipur to carry them to historical Amer Fort. The village has about 100 elephants.

It takes about a thousand rupees a day to feed an animal whereas the daily earnings around rupees 300-400.
