Greater Noida, Feb 5 : Toyota showcased the all new Corolla Altis sedan Wednesday, a day before the biennial 12th Auto Expo opens here.
With its smooth contours and aggressive stance, the 11th generation of the new Corolla is a huge improvement over its predecessor which had started to look dated. At the same time, it oozes luxury with highlights like plush leather seats, dual-tone interior, piano black instrument clusters, and keyless entry.
Taking note of the fact that many Corolla vehicles are chauffeur-driven, Toyota has claimed that the rear of the car has the best in class cabin space and even reclining seats.
Greater Noida, Feb 5 : Honda Wednesday unveiled two new models, Mobilio multi-purpose vehicle and an all new Jazz hatchback, a day before the 12th Auto Expo opens here.
The Mobilio which is a multi-purpose vehicle is the third vehicle after Amaze to be based on Honda's popular hatchback Brio's platform. It has three rows of seats and can seat seven people.
It is set to lock horns with the likes of the Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Mahindra Xylo and is likely to be priced competitively between Rs. 8 and 10 lakh.
Greater Noida, Feb 5 - American auto giant Ford Wednesday launched a new Fiesta and also unveiled a compact sedan concept that will go head-to-head with Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze a day before the biennial Auto Expo 2014 opens here.
"The Ford Fiesta has been lauded by enthusiasts in India for its superior driving dynamics, smart features and technology in the B segment," said Vinay Piparsania, executive director of marketing, sales and service, Ford India.
Greater Noida, Feb 5 - Japanese auto major Isuzu Motors Wednesday launched a new variant of its popular D-Max pickup truck called the "space cab" that will be available for around Rs. 8 lakh and is aimed at rural and towns.
The space cab has a specially built cabin which gives 1.5 feet of extra space behind the drivers' seat - differentiating it from the existing D-Max pickup. The additional room can be used for carrying personal belongings, luggage and pets that require care.

Greater Noida, Jan 12 : The government is considering increasing the quota of subsidised cooking gas (LPG) cylinders from nine to 12 per household in a year, Petroleum Minister M. Veerappa Moily said Sunday.
"I have read in the newspapers about (Congress vice-president) Rahul Gandhi taking up the issue of increasing the LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) cap with the prime minister. I am yet to get comments from the Congress vice-president or the prime minister," he told reporters at the Petrotech 2014 conference here, on the national capital's outskirts.

Trailing Sharmila by a stroke was Delhi’s Vani Kapoor.
Sharmila had a brilliant round scoring the lowest total. With an impressive score, Sharmila looks to be in great form post her return nursing an ankle injury. Her round consisted of six birdies on the second, fifth, eighth, ninth, 10th and 11th holes followed by a single bogey on the 17th hole.
Greater Noida, Oct 26 : Like his fellow Formula 1 colleagues, Red Bull’s chief technical officer Adrian Newey also had his ‘India moment’ while travelling to the Buddh International Circuit (BIC).
The 54-year-old had a minor car accident while coming to the circuit Friday.
“We had a bit of an accident, only a small one, Friday while reaching the circuit. The car next to ours nicked us and went their way, rushing up the motorway as if nothing had happened,” Newey told IANS at the BIC paddock ahead of the Indian Grand Prix Sunday.
Greater Noida, Oct 26 : Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel topped the timesheets once again in the shortened third practice session of the Indian Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) here Saturday.
The German driver, who had topped the two practice sessions Friday, looks well set to bag pole position in the qualifying session later in the day. Vettel clocked one minute and 25.333 seconds, a remarkable 0.560 seconds ahead of second placed teammate Mark Webber.
Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso was third in 1:26.105.
Greater Noida, Oct 25 : Australian driver Daniel Ricciardo, who will drive for Red Bull in the 2014 Formula 1 season, has spoken highly of his former teammate Narain Karthikeyan.
“It was good working with Narain. He was really fast over a lap and he looked to push all the time. While you are doing that you are bound to make some mistakes,” Ricciardo, who replaced Karthikeyan in the HRT team in the middle of 2011, told IANS Friday ahead of the Indian Grand Prix Sunday.
Karthikeyan returned to the Spanish outfit for the Indian Grand Prix where he teamed up with Ricciardo. The Indian beat the Australian for 17th place.

The controversial Greater Noida Master Plan 2021 has finally been approved by the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), in a move that has cleared the way for recommencement of construction work in hundreds of housing projects in the area.
Confirming the development, an official said, "The board has given a nod to the Master Plan 2021 with certain conditions."
In 2007, the Greater Noida Authority acquired 3,000 hectares of land from farmers for industrial use; but later it used 2,500 hectares of that land housing projects 'Noida Extension'.
