Punjab Engineering College student, Pavneet Singh Gulyani couldn’t have asked for more. 22-year-old Pavneet, a resident of Mohali have topped the IIM Common Admission Test with a 100-percentile score. Son of a shopkeeper, he is among the all-India toppers.

Cold wave grips north India

Cold WaveNew Delhi/Chandigarh, Jan 3 : A cold wave swept through North India on Saturday with temperatures plummeting and fog disrupting transport in New Delhi and Chandigarh.

New Delhi was gripped by dipping temperatures coupled with dense fog, making life difficult for people.

The minimum temperature fell to 4 degrees Celsius on Friday, one of the coldest winter mornings of the season.

Mukhesh Kumar Dixit, a rickshaw puller, who woke up at around 5:00 in the morning, was unable to bear the winter chill. He said his hands were freezing and that he would not be able to work in such weather.

Anand SharmaChandigarh, Dec. 31 : Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma on Wednesday said that Pakistan should come out of denial mode and bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attacks to justice.

"It''ll be good that if the acknowledgement is forthright. This fact is known to the world that where the perpetrators (of Mumbai terror attacks) came from, where those organisations are based, the conspirators which have been identified and named. And instead of being in denial, Pakistan should take effective steps to bring to justice the conspirators and funders," said Sharma at a press conference here today.

Taking a break from their practice session, the players decided to unwind by indulging in shopping at Chandigarh.

Accompanied by police personnel, the players browsed through the shops and checked out the merchandise to their heart''s content, much to the locals'' delight who gathered at the market to watch their cricketing heroes.
