Red wine is good for health
U. S. researchers have claimed that, drinking red wine is good for health and leads to a healthy and longer life, having said that people now have a great reason to drink red wine.
Scientist has found a special plant extract in the red grapes which causes the body to age slowly.
They found the extract, 'Resveratrol', in red grapes which reduces inflammation in humans, thus reducing various heart diseases and preventing Type 2 Diabetes.
The prior experiments which were carried out in yeast and animals have resulted in their prolonged life, but its prolonging effect on human life is yet to be observed, said the researchers at State University of New York at Buffalo.
Their findings concluded that consuming Resveratrol, reduces the development of Type 2 Diabetes, ageing, heart disease and heart strokes.
The research was carried out by Dr. Paresh Dandona, chief of endocrinology, and his team studied the effects on 20 volunteers, and cautioned that despite having great results so far, more study had be done in case if some other agent in the extract was causing the anti-inflammatory effects.
