Rajesh Exports launches new jewellery range; plans overseas tie-up
Bangalore-based diamond and jewellery manufacturer, Rajesh Exports Limited has launched its nine international brands of diamond jewellery brands namely Harmony, I-teen, Ghazal, Eternal, Filigree, Aishwarya, Solitaire, Southern and Sushmita at a function held at Windsor Manor, Bangalore.
The company also plans to tie-up with leading retail chains worldwide to sell its branded diamond jewellery. It is already in discussions with diamond jewellery distributors and retail chains overseas such as Zara and JC Penny for strategic distribution agreements
Rajesh Mehta, Chairman, Rajesh Exports, said, “So far, we have not finalized any retail chain. We intend to have a presence in 100 countries in the coming years by partnering the top two distributors in the respective nations. We are looking at 200 international clients worldwide for our retail operations.”
The retail expansion abroad is a part of the Bangalore-based retailer`s strategy to reduce bulk exports and focus on private label exports, diamond jewellery and retail. These sectors offer better margins.
The firm has also lined up expansion of domestic retail operations with the demand for gold and diamond jewellery going up in the country.
Banglore-based company was established in 1990 for wholesale manufacturing and selling of gold jewelry in the domestic and the foreign market. Rajesh Exports is amongst the largest exporters of gold jewelry in India, with markets in five countries worldwide.
The company earns 40% of revenues from West Asia, 20% from Far East, 10% from Europe and 15% from the US.
Rajesh Exports, which has orders worth 19 billion rupees to be executed by March 2008, sees diamond jewellery sales of 2.5 billion rupees in 2008/09.
At 11:30 am, the share of Rajesh Exports was quoting at Rs 891 on NSE, up Rs 10 or 1.11%. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 898 and an intraday low of Rs 885.
