Rajasthan Royals Thumped Middlesex Panthers
The all-round performance by Dimitri Mascarenhas sailed the Rajasthan Royals, the champions of first edition of IPL, to a comfortable win against the Middlesex Panthers by 46-run in the charity match of the one-off British Asian Cup Twenty20 match at the Lord's.
Mascarenhas smashed 32 runs to help their team to reach at the score of 162 runs with the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs, and later showed the way to pavilion to Neil Dexter (26) and Owais Shah (1) as Middlesex finished their allotted overs with 117 runs on the board, short by 46 runs in the charity match for the British Asian Trust.
The comeback man Mohammad Kaif also played brilliantly to score 41 runs on just 35 balls while the aggressive opener S Asnodkar contributed 41 runs with the bat in this emphatic win of the Rajasthan Royals.
Sohail Tanvir, who had missed IPL-2, took three wickets for just 20 runs in his 4 overs and Mascarenhas was declared man of the match for his brilliant all round performance with bat and ball.
