Probe demanded by victim''s kin over the mysterious fire in BARC
Narayanpur (West Bengal), Jan 1 : The kin of Partha Bag, one of the victims of the mysterious fire at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in Mumbai, have demanded a probe.
Bag''s relatives have said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should undertake the probe.
Questioning the mysterious circumstances that led to deaths, Bag''s neighbours at his native Narayanpur village in South 24 Pargana district of West Bengal, also accused of BARC of not providing adequate security.
"Our own boy had been working there (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre). I feel the Institute fails to provide enough security, so boys from here and other places would not like to work there. We demand an enquiry into the matter. It would be better if the Central Bureau of Investigation conducts a probe," said Jaydeb Mondal, a neighbour of Bag.
Partha Bag and his colleague, Umang Singh, were killed in a fire at a chemistry lab of BARC on Tuesday. Both of them were Ph. D students and working as research scholars at the BARC.
Investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of fire in the lab. (ANI)
