Princess Diana’s letters to nanny fetch £21k at auction
London, October 1: Four never-seen-before letters written by Princess Diana to her ex-nanny have fetched a staggering 21,000 pounds.
The letters went under the hammer on September 30.
The highest bid of 9,200 pounds was made for the letter in which teen Diana confessed she danced like an elephant, reports the Sun.
However, it was Di’s letter to Mary Clarke, written six months past her wedding to Prince Charles, that sell for an amazing 8,000 pounds – four times higher than expected.
In the letter to her 58-year old nanny, Diana talks of her love for Prince Charles, her excitement over their approaching marriage, and her feelings of being a first-time mother with Prince Wills.
In the meantime, a letter written by Wallis Simpson on her honeymoon with former King Edward VIII sold for 11,200 pounds at the same auction in Colchester, Essex. (ANI)
