Prince registers third largest opening in 2010

Vivek Oberoi Well, does not matter whether you believe it or not, but the truth for the weekend that ended yesterday was that the Vivek Oberoi starer 'Prince' registered the third highest opening for any film released in India so far in 2010. The films opening collections were next only to King Khan's My Name Is Khan and Salman's Veer.

Many of the critics who considered the movie dead from day one itself certainly got themselves slapped as the movie, for which a 50 per cent opening collection would have been great, did much better than 50 per cent. Single screen audience remained the key force behind the flick's commendable opening.

The movie was originally criticized by film reviewers for a shaky script, and clumsy direction, certainly has been saved by its exciting promos, eye-catching visuals, soothing music, cool babes and fast paced narration. However, being a big budget movie, the producers still must be having their fingers crossed as just a good opening might not be good enough to save them.

They need such collections to continue at least for a fortnight. Nevertheless, the collections so far certainly have given Vivek a standing in the industry once again.
