Nagpur, Feb. 8, : Bharatiya Janata Party's Prime Ministerial candidate L. K. Advani on Sunday said that National Democratic Alliance would recommend for the Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru's execution to the President of India, within 100 days of returning to the power at the Centre.
Bangalore, Feb 8 : Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Sunday asked Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhury to stop making irresponsible statements on the Mangalore pub attacks.
"Let her come and ascertain the facts. A probe is on and the truth will come out. Till then she should stop making comments on the state government," Yeddyurappa told reporters in Bangalore.
New Delhi, Feb. 8 : The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has not ruled out the possibility of supporting a government with Congress party as its part at the centre after Lok Sabha elections, though such a situation was improbable.
Berlin - German Economics Minister Michael Glos has offered to resign, the newspaper Bild am Sonntag reported on Saturday.
The newspaper said the minister had informed Chancellor Angela Merkel of his intention.
Glos is a member of the Christian Social Union (CSU), the Bavarian sister party of Merkel's Christian Democrats (CDU).
The 64-year-old Glos expressed his desire to step down in a letter to CSU leader Host Seehofer, who is also president of the southern German state of Bavaria.
New Delhi, Feb. 6, : Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad and Water Resources Minister Saifuddin Soz were declared unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Jammu and Kashmir in the biennial polls on Friday.
The Returning Officer for the polls, M. Ramzan said, "Since there was no other candidate contesting against them, Soz and Azad have been declared elected unopposed."
The Election Comission had earlier issued three notifications for four Rajya Sabha seats for Jammu and Kashmir.
