UP Police arrest six LeT militants for attack on Rampur CRPF camp
Lucknow, Feb 10: At least six suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants have been arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police for their alleged involvement in attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Rampur on January 1 this year.
According to sources, these militants are also suspected to be involved in the attack on Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore.
Three suspected militants - Suhail, Arshad Ali alias Baba and Fahyeem - were arrested from Rampur, while Salahuddin who hails from Bihar, and two residents of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) - Imran and Farooq were arrested from Lucknow, sources said.
Salahuddin is said to be the brain behind the Rampur as well as Bangalore attack.
Two AK47 rifles, pistol, five grenades and a large number of cartridges were recovered from their possession.
At least seven personnel belonging to CRPF and one civilian were killed in the militants attack in Rampur and an IIT Professor was killed in the Bangalore attack. (ANI)
