Points to Remember To Stay Protected From Skin Damage

People usually select a suitable skin type sunscreen in order to stay protected from skin damage, just going for a relatively high SPF and applying it on.

But as per experts there are lot of things one need to consider in order to keep the skin safe from the sun and younger looking.

Joshua Zeichner, MD, director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, said that one need to focus on the point that one must choose a kind of sunscreen keeping in mind what you're doing outdoors.

If a person is not choosing its product based on activity, then is can put him/ her at risk of sunburn and serious skin damage.

Marie Jhin, MD, a dermatologist in San Francisco, said, "Scientists have come up with formulations that absorb into skin more easily, last longer and protect you from more than just UV rays".

Scientists once believed that UV and UVB rays were completely absorbed by the ozone layer, but now they're less sure about this point after there have been issues over the ozone's slow but steady depletion.

Here are some suggestions experts want people to follow if they want to stay protected from skin damage.

"Use a high-SPF chemical block with avobenzone, which is the only chemical that absorbs the whole UVA spectrum.

"When using spray protectors one should hold a bottle an inch or two away from skin, spray for roughly two seconds per areas, and rub it in.

"One should opt for a broad spectrum, water-resistant lotion. Go for chemical formulas, which form a film on skin that absorbs UV radiation before it can cause any damage.

"Apply any product at least 20 minutes before stepping out into the sun, since chemical sunscreens take that much time to absorb into the skin.
