PM to launch online Think Tank

PM to launch online Think TankGovernment would launch an online think tank of foreign Indians that would guide it for various foreign policy and management related issues. The Think Tank would comprise of eminent dignitaries from various domains including business, political and economic segments. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh would formally launch it at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, the annual conclave of the Indian Diaspora.

The secretary of Ministry of Overseas Indian affairs, K Mohandas said, "It will take a month for the Global-Indian Network of Knowledge (Global INK) to be activated, and it will possibly develop into the biggest link between those living here and overseas Indians."

Meanwhile, PBD-2009 is going on with heavy attendance of NRIs. The recent terror attack on Mumbai and global financial crisis failed to stop participants from about 48 countries of world to attend the conclave. The secretary of Overseas Indian affairs said, "The response has been quite enormous, especially in view of the general slowdown in the world and perceived adverse conditions."

Overseas Indian affairs minister, Vayalar Ravi said assured people of Indian origin that country would take all possible steps to maintain investment friendly environment in the country. He told about various steps taken by Union Government to mitigate the impact of global slowdown on Indian economy.
