Petition Filed Over Shah’s Falling Health
In a significant move, an application was filed in the court by the Bar Association Baramulla on Saturday for the immediate shifting of leading J & K separatist leader, Shabir Shah to SKIIMS hospital, Soura.
In its application the Bar said that the health of Shah was dropping fast with each passing day and the continuous medical laxity may bear out serious for his life. The Bar said, “Shah is a pro-freedom leader of international repute and his arrest was done under a well planned conspiracy to malign his image.”
“The health of Shabbir Ahmad Shah is deteriorating and he should be kept under medical supervision, because he lacked the basic facilities in Baramulla sub-jail,“ added the application.
Apart from the Bar Association Baramulla, family members of the senior separatist leader have also filed a petition seeking that Shah should be shifted to the Soura hospital.
Shah, a former member of All Party Hurriyat Conference (APHC), has been illegally detained under Public Safety Act.
Meanwhile, all the major Hurriyet parties in the State have taken strongly exception to the continued illegal detention of Shabir Shah. They have demanded his immediate release. According to these leaders the re-arrest of Shabbir Shah has completely exposed the false Indian claim of being a democratic nation.
Speaking on this, acting-chairman of Democratic Freedom Party Muhammad Abdullah Tari said, “If anything untoward happen to our leader, Government of India will be held responsible for it.”
